The hope of the "ladder-holders." Wednesday Mid-Week Service

It was another refreshing time in God’s presence at House On The Rock Asaba. God’s glory was evident in the midst of His People as De Masterpiece lifted our Spirit during the call to worship,  Praise session and worship with lovely songs like: “I surrender all”, “all things are possible”, “Bless the Lord with me” ,“Be glorifies, “Everything” and “He knows my name ”. All songs were led by Ministers Chuks, Ufuoma, Knowledge and Lois respectively. These were done after Minister Sam said the opening prayers.

These  are announcements for the week as taken by Pastor Dexter:

1. The "woman to woman" conference
2. The 26th of May will be a children's day service.
3. All those who made any form of pledge or vow were encouraged to redeem them.
4. The new classes for Family House Academy will start this coming Sunday, May 12th.

He welcomed the host pastor here at HOTR Asaba, Pastor Cosfinney Udoka to deliver the message from the Lord.

The Senior Pastor announced that he would use the first half hour to conclude the leadership series, and the last half hour to answer questions from the congregation [on the series].

Bible Verses: Luke 16 vs 10-12, 12 vs 42-44, Prov. 28 vs 20, 26, Psalms 12 vs 1, 1 Cor. 4 vs. 2

Message Title: The hope of the "ladder-holders."

"If you cannot be faithful in another man's thing, God will not give you your own. There is a difference between faithfulness and "face-fulness."  "Face-fulness" is an act of wickedness, and does not please God. Faithfulness is a requirement in the school of riches. If you're not faithful, you're not likely to be rich or blessed.

"Every ladder-holder is destined to climb that ladder. Every servant is a potential leader, you cannot lead without serving. Being a "ladder-holder" is a privilege that sets you on the path to leadership where someday, people will hold your ladder. It is not easy to be a "ladder-holder," but hold on. It takes humility to serve, but in the end, in will be worth it.

"No matter the age or qualification of your leader, in the church, home or office, follow him. God put him as your leader for a reason. It took strong faithfulness and humility for the disciples to follow Christ because some of them were older and more qualified than He was. God rewards faithfulness, no matter where it was carried out. Faithfulness in service is a "fixed deposit," you must get it back.

"You must always learn to go down in life by yourself because after that, your natural destination is up. God did not program us to be stars, He programmed us to shine like the sun. Wherever you are serving, in any capacity, serve well. God does not reward talent or gifts, He rewards faithfulness.

"It is wrong for a man to hold your ladder hopelessly, without vision of climbing the ladder someday. When your "ladder-holder" has a vision of holding the ladder someday, he will hold your ladder and support you properly. Learn all you need to learn while you're holding the ladder so that when it gets to your turn of climbing the ladder, you won't make some mistakes."

He ended the message by saying that the aim of the leadership series is to build good leaders tomorrow. Good leadership starts with good service.

The question and answer session was interesting and enlightening.

We were blessed with the heaven-inspired teaching of God's servant tonight and through out the leadership series.

Tithes and offering were collected and closing benedictions said, bringing the beautiful service to an end.
